Peninsula Transport is one of the two sub-national transport bodies (STBs) in the South West of England.\u00a0 The Peninsula Transport STB formed at the end of 2018 with a membership of five local authorities: Cornwall Council, Devon County Council, Plymouth City Council, Somerset County Council and Torbay Council.\u00a0 It is one of seven STBs covering England and provides a regional voice to Government on transport investment and policy priorities.<\/p>\n
ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ is providing support to the organisation in developing its scheme priorities for transport funding.<\/p>\n
An economic connectivity study was developed as a first step in the development of a long-term transport strategy and has focussed on some of the key trends which will influence future travel in the region.\u00a0 Responding to this work, the STB has committed to a transition to a low carbon transport system at the heart of its strategy.<\/p>\n
ÐÓ°ÉÂÛ̳ is continuing to support Peninsula Transport on its transport strategy vision, freight strategy and the full transport strategy, which are due for publication in 2021.<\/p>\n
